Terms of Service
Last updated: July 13, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Breviaz, an AI-assisted expense tracking application. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
Contact: hola@breviaz.com. Privacy details: Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Breviaz lets you capture receipts, extract expense fields with AI, store expenses, export data, and (on paid plans) access insights and higher usage limits. Features may change as we improve the product. Beta features may be incomplete or change without notice.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate registration information.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
3. Plans, billing, and trials
- Free and paid plans (e.g. Pro, Business) have different limits and features as described on our pricing page.
- Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Taxes may apply where required.
- Founding-member or promotional pricing is limited and may change for new customers; existing promotions follow the offer terms shown at checkout.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription via the Stripe Customer Portal linked from Billing in the app. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period unless stated otherwise.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload illegal content, or content you do not have the right to process.
- Abuse AI/OCR quotas, scrape the service, or attempt to bypass plan limits or security controls.
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or probe the service beyond normal use except where permitted by law.
- Use Breviaz to build a competing product by systematically extracting our models' outputs at scale.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of expense data and receipt images you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the service (including AI extraction and backups). You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and process that content.
6. AI output disclaimer
OCR and AI suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are solely responsible for reviewing extracted fields before saving and for any decisions based on exports, insights, or reports. Breviaz is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or legal advice.
7. Intellectual property
The Breviaz name, branding, software, and documentation are our property (or our licensors'). These Terms do not grant you ownership of the service.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical. We may update these Terms; continued use after posting means acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using Breviaz and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits) will survive.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BREVIAZ AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $50 IF YOU ARE ON A FREE PLAN).
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Breviaz operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction shall have exclusive venue, subject to applicable consumer rights.
Note: update this section with your legal entity and governing law before public launch if you incorporate in a specific country.
